If you have advertised on Kijiji or Craigslist online classifieds, you will soon notice your advert quickly dropping down the page rankings in its category. The adverts generally appear in descending date order, so the older your advert is the further down the rankings it will be. The image on the right shows a sample of an ad that ended up on Page 10 after just a few days.
Kijiji offers various paid services intended to enhance your free listing. Simply click on the Promote button on your Kijiji ads page and you will see the following options:
You need to assess the pricing of the different options against the benefits, and what you are trying to do with your advert. For example, selecting the 3rd option, Top Ad, enables your advert to appear in the top section of its category for a week, at a cost of $9.99. So instead of appearing on Page 10 (and worse!) you are on Page One for a week.
